Life Skills
1.1 Vision, Goals and Time Stewardship
Students are encouraged to discover their dreams and write a vision for
their lives. Having created practical goals to turn dreams into reality
this material ensures that students make the time to see their dreams
come true.
1.2 Small Group Leadership and Group Process.
Based on years of research and the work of best-selling authors Cloud
and Townsend, this course is a must for all small group leaders and
those searching for greater self and social awareness. Even the most
experienced group leaders will appreciate this blend of our Christian
heritage and modern psychological tools.
Bible Study
2.1 Bible Overview.
This bird’s eye overview of both the Old and New Testaments is intended
to make “the great big Bible” seem much smaller by getting the overall
picture. Through this study students will become more confident in
their knowledge and use of the scriptures as well as taking away a
large resource portfolio for future use in ministry.
2.2 Bible Study, Interpretation, Research and Communication.
These areas will be broken down into their most practical components
and presented in such a way as to serve your own study and ministry.
Your Bible study will be revolutionized as you learn to use the tools
of the trade.
2.3 Hermeneutics.
A much more in depth look at Bible Study and Interpretation, using “How
to Read the Bible for All It’s Worth” by Gordon Fee and Douglas Stuart
as our textbook. This section will challenge you to the core as well as
bring fresh insight into your study of the Word.
Topical Studies
3.1 Foundations of Christian Doctrine.
An in-depth study of the following Christian teachings: The Doctrine of
Revelation, Doctrine of the Scriptures, Doctrine of God, Doctrine of
the Holy Spirit, Doctrine of Angels, Doctrine of Satan and Demonology,
Doctrine of Man, Doctrine of Sin, Doctrine of Christ, Doctrine of the
Atonement, Doctrine of Eternal States. For this section we use the
textbook The Foundations of Christian Doctrine, by Kevin Conner.
3.2 Law & Grace.
Understanding this topic is crucial to being a New Testament minister
and preacher of the Gospel. Many of the problems we face are rooted in
a failure to understand law and grace. Coming to grips with the free
grace of God and its implications will be the most liberating thing
that you will ever experience.
3.3 Spiritual Gifts.
This is a comprehensive look at Biblical Spiritual Gifts, and how they
function. We will take an in depth look at how each ministry can be
trained and their relationship to church government. This will empower
you to understand yourself and others like never before.
